At the regular Council meeting on January 11, 2021, Council unanimously decided to cancel interest and penalties on outstanding tax account balances for the period extending from March 1st to June 30th 2022.
Reopening of the library
Starting Thursday, January 13, we will be happy to welcome you inside the library and allow you to have access to the shelves and choose your books by yourself, while respecting the sanitary measures in effect.

Flags at half-mast in honor of firefighter Martin Tremblay
To honor the memory of Mr. Martin Tremblay, a Boischatel firefighter who tragically passed away on duty during the night of December 18 to 19, the Municipality of Chelsea has lowered its flags to half-mast.
Municipal Council adopts a budget of $23 million for the year 2022
At a special council meeting held on December 21 at 7:00 p.m., the new council unanimously adopted a realistic budget of $23 million, including a tax rate increase below the annual inflation rate.
COVID-19: Update on new measures

Municipality of Chelsea initiates Federal Court action on NCC file
The Municipality of Chelsea announced today that it has initiated legal proceedings before the Federal Court in the case against the NCC regarding the payment in lieu of taxes (PILT) it has owed Chelsea since 2018.
Closure of the administrative offices and the library

Lifting of the preventive boil water advisory on the Municipal Water System
The preventive boil water advisory affecting residents served by the municipal water system has been lifted. Water from the municipal aqueduct is now safe to drink.
UPDATE: BOIL WATER ADVISORY IN EFFECT
